Questions bakers ask.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Your ordering site works in the web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and your customers don’t download anything either. Orders come to you by email, with the Blueprint attached.
What if a customer wants something your ordering site can’t do?
Your ordering site only offers what’s on your menu, so customers choose from what you make. For anything else, like copying a photo or a sculpted cake, the Call button on every screen puts them straight through to you. Photo and quote requests are coming.
Who gets the money?
You do. Customers pay by card on your own Stripe account, so you’re the seller and the money lands in your Stripe account, less the fees listed under Pricing. Stripe pays out to your bank on its usual schedule [CONFIRM_PAYOUT_TIMING]. Card numbers are handled by Stripe, so neither you nor we ever see them. No Stripe account yet? We’ll help you open one during setup.
Can I change prices and close days myself?
Not on your own yet. For now, send us a message and we’ll make the change for you within [CONFIG_CHANGE_TURNAROUND]: new prices, holidays, how much notice you need, or how many cakes you take a day. An editor you can use yourself is coming.
Will it work for my older customers?
It was designed with customers aged 65 and up in mind: big text, big buttons, plain words, dates written out in full, and one clear button to press on every screen. If they get stuck, the Call button rings your bakery.
What does it cost?
A monthly plan from CA$[XX] a month, plus Stripe’s standard card fees on each payment [CONFIRM_STRIPE_FEES]. [PER_ORDER_FEE_LINE] Founding bakeries get [FOUNDING_DISCOUNT] for [FOUNDING_TERM].
What if a customer cancels or wants a change?
You set your cancellation rule, and customers see it in plain words before they pay. Small changes, like the message, a colour or the flavour, can be made by phoning you up to the cancellation cut-off. A new size or design means cancelling and ordering again. Refunds are paid back from your Stripe account. [CONFIRM_CANCELLATION_WORDING]
What’s not ready yet?
We’d rather tell you now. Today, customers pay the full price by card, for pickup, in English, at yourbakery.[PLATFORM_DOMAIN]. Coming: deposits with the balance paid later, Apple Pay and Google Pay, delivery, your own web address, and other languages. [ROADMAP_TIMING] Founding bakeries help decide what comes first.
